Planning Strategies and Actions for the Impacts of Plot-Level Housing Renovations on the Urban Environment and Quality of Life

The aim of the research project titled “Planning Strategies and Actions for the Effects of Housing Renovations at Parcel Level on the Urban Environment and Quality of Life” is to investigate the effects of housing renovation applications carried out at parcel level in planned developed housing areas with high earthquake vulnerability on the built environment, urban landscape and social environment; to monitor these effects within the framework of the quality of life model; to determine the potential of these applications for increasing the quality of life and to define the strategies and actions that will guide the applications. The project is carried out in line with the database covering the areal analyses and household survey research carried out under the guidance of the relevant conceptual framework. With the support of the data obtained from the study that is the predecessor of this research in 2014, the characteristics of the built environment and urban landscape, social networks and relations and the change of urban life and experiences are addressed in line with the relevant quality of life parameters from the perspectives of landscape architecture, urban planning and architecture disciplines. The findings and expected outputs of the project will contribute to the creation of programs that guide professionals from relevant disciplines, especially decision makers, and support renovation applications and will contribute to the academic production and discussion in the context of quality of life - housing renovations. will bring new perspectives to the field.
